According to the extract of article 73 of the code of ethics, (comments revised in 2003)
... Whenever the practitioner makes use of his/her experience or documents for scientific publishing or teaching purposes, he/she must act so as to prevent any possible identification of the patients. Failing which, their agreement must be obtained…
The photos included in the surgeon’s files are under the sole responsibility of said surgeon who has confided them in MCEI after being warned by MCEI that they should have written agreement from the appearing people.
Such written agreement from people shown as medical information is compulsory and the surgeon must be in possession of it.
Caring about privacy, MCEI does not have access to the surgeons’ patients’ medical data and hence cannot be held responsible for the photos the surgeon will have confided in them. In order to avoid any ambiguity regarding modification requests, MCEI cannot remove the photos unless the surgeon expressly asks it. Any person wishing to modify or else delete their photos must then put their request to their surgeon’s who will in turn inform MCEI to the hereafter address: contact@mcei.info or else by post mail to : MCEI, 52, cours Alsace et Lorraine 33000 Bordeaux France. MCEI will then immediately contact the surgeon so as to get confirmation of his/her request.
Some pages in this site include reference to or links to information broadcast by other sites. Neither MCEI nor the Publication Manager can equally be held responsible for information included in the web pages in reference.
Furthermore, any hypertext link referring to this site must be subjected to prior authorization. If the case arises, the medical information included in MCEI site cannot replace consulting a qualified surgeon, because of particular nature and characteristics peculiar to each patient.
