Smile wrinkles result from a lack of hydration, they are mainly related
to skin aging with the decrease of hyaluronic acid (responsible for
proper hydration) that occurs naturally in the skin. One of these types
of wrinkle goes from the nose to the corners of the mouth and is
called the nasolabial fold.
The current treatment for nasolabial fold wrinkles, or smile lines, is
the injection of hyaluronic acid, the effect of which that lasts from 6
to 18 months. This method is effective and has immediate results. The
sessions are short, about 30 minutes, with little painful injections
given under local anaesthesia for greater comfort.
The function of hyaluronic acid is maintaining a good level of
hydration of the skin by capturing and maintaining the water in the
deep layers of the body. Its biodegradable nature makes it a product
that prevents any permanent accidents. Thanks to its moisturising
properties, hyaluronic acid is used as an ingredient in cosmetics.
