ASAPS membership remains an exclusive privilege for those surgeons who possess the necessary qualifications. Only one quarter of all U.S. board- certified plastic surgeons have been accepted into ASAPS. Physicians who were trained in specialities other than plastic surgery are not eligible for ASAPS membership.
